Our Mission
The Sri Lankan Bhikkhuni Association (USA & Sri Lanka) is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and nurturing the authentic Theravāda Bhikkhuni lineage with purity and integrity. Rooted in the sacred Dhamma and guided by the Vinaya, we are committed to strengthening the Bhikkhuni Sangha across Sri Lanka and the United States, ensuring the continuity of the Buddha Sāsana for future generations.
Through ordination, higher ordination, spiritual education, meditation training, and compassionate service, we strive to cultivate wisdom, moral discipline, and loving-kindness within the monastic and lay communities. We seek to foster unity, harmony, and mutual respect among Bhikkhunis worldwide, serving as a bridge between nations while upholding the noble heritage of the Theravāda tradition.
With humility and dedication, we work for the welfare and happiness of many, supporting Bhikkhunis in their spiritual journey and inspiring future generations to walk the Noble Eightfold Path toward liberation.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see a strong, united, and spiritually flourishing Theravāda Bhikkhuni Sangha, firmly established in both Sri Lanka and the United States, radiating the light of the Dhamma to the world.
We envision a future where the sacred Bhikkhuni lineage continues unbroken, grounded in the purity of the Vinaya and guided by wisdom and compassion. Through harmony, spiritual friendship, and dedicated practice, we aspire to create a supportive environment where Bhikkhunis may fully cultivate the Noble Path and serve as exemplars of the Buddha's teachings.
